Memorials

After the funeral you may wish to place a memorial in the cemetery or churchyard. There are many different kinds of memorials, and we will be able to help you find one that is appropriate and personal to you. We will also advise you about permitted materials and the regulations affecting the size of memorials.

We have a memorial showroom at each of our locations; in the Longford Office in Coventry and also Leicester Road office in Bedworth. We display an extensive range of shapes and colours, as well as a wide range of ornamentation and various different fonts for the inscription.

Memorials following a burial

Following a burial it can take some months, depending on the condition of the ground, before the grave is ready for a memorial to be placed. During this time it is worth visiting the cemetery/churchyard as well as our showrooms, to get an idea of how the memorial will look.

Once you have chosen a memorial, we would provide you with an estimate showing how much it would cost.  Once you have approved the design and cost, we would write to the council or minister for permission to place the memorial in the cemetery or graveyard.

On receiving their written consent, we send you a final drawing from the stonemason, so you can ensure you are entirely satisfied with the design of your lasting memorial.  When the memorial is ready, we will advise the family and forward the invoice.

In the event of a re-opened grave there maybe a memorial on the grave which we would remove prior to the burial and hold at our offices, while you instruct us about adding an additional inscription to it.

Memorials following a cremation

We also hold a wide variety of cremation memorials. Following a cremation there is no need to wait for the ground to settle so the memorial can be placed much sooner. Once we have received approval from either the council or minister, the memorial can be placed after the interment of ashes.
